History of the department
Department of Music Education and Pedagogy was established on the initiative of the rector Aubakirova Zh. in 2007. Primarily it was the coordinating center for the Hei’s experimental projects, the Department directed its activities to implement positive systemic changes in the field of art, culture and education. The first staff identified the task of improving the quality of the teaching of musical and pedagogical disciplines in the training of a modern specialist of higher qualification, as well as the concentration of the efforts of the department on innovations into educational process of the conservatory (Kaliakbarova L.T, Vertkova L.A, Rauandina Sh.Z, Fedyanin A.A, Zhusupova S.S, Stanevich N.N, Shabdenova D.R, Yusupova A.A, Zavatskaya G.A, Kokybasova Sh.I., Muspirova Zh.T., etc.).
Teaching staff of the department was one of the first in the conservatory in 2010 to introduce in the educational process the author's musical electronic teaching aids which do not have analogues in Kazakhstan.
At the moment, teachers of the Department of Music Education and Pedagogy have high scientific and creative achievements: they won the Republican competitions of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan "Best University Teacher" for 2006 and 2012, elected to the International Academy of Pedagogical Education (Russia), awarded with State awards, anniversary medals of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan "20th anniversary of Independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan", "the 20th anniversary of the Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan", Gold medals and European quality diplomas of the European Union for advanced activities in the field of music education in 2013 and 2015, the medal of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan "for merits in the development of science of the Republic of Kazakhstan." For the achievements in the field of science of the Republic of Kazakhstan, teachers were included in the Internet encyclopedia "Scientists of Russia", and in two encyclopedias of the Republic of Kazakhstan "Life in Science" and "Scientists of Kazakhstan", teachers defended their master's theses in the field of art, pedagogy and psychology (Usenbaev E.T, Esdauletova K.A, Yusupova A.A, Musapirova Zh.T. , Ildyrymly B.G, Zavatskaya G.A), in business administration of the MBA at the School State and Social Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Almaty Management University (Kaliakbarova L.T, Yusupov A.A), and also successfully defended his doctoral dissertation and received the degree of Doctor PhD (Kaldayakov A.A, supervisor of studies prof. Kaliakbarova L.T). Victory in international and republican competitions (Esdauletyva K.A, Ildyrymly B.G, Kaliakbarova L.T, Kaldayakova A.A, Musapirova Zh.T.), preparation of laureates and diplomats of international, republican olympiads, performing competitions, competitions of research of students. (Shabdenova D.R, Bayzhumanova Zh.I., Yusupova A.A, Kaliakbarova L.T, Zhusupova S.S, Esdauletova K.A.) confirm to the high creative potential of the Department of Music Education and Pedagogy.
With the purpose of improving the musical education, the department takes the initiative in organizing and conducting various international and national events, specifically: 7th International competition after D.B. Kabalevsky "Teacher of Music of the XX-th century" in cooperation with the faculty “UNESCO” of the Moscow State University (Moscow, Russia) and the National Scientific and Educational Wellness Center "Bobek" (2014), signed agreements on international cooperation in the field of education and science with Azerbaijan State University of Culture and Art in Baku (2017), with the Beijing Conservatory (China) and Kurmangazy KNK (2015), including academic mobility of teachers and students; has developed a draft of a joint curriculum on Music Education for the purpose of developing international academic mobility between the Kurmangazy KNC and the Azerbaijan State University of Culture and Arts (Baku); presented the author's concept of the development of the specialty "Music education" in the Republic of Kazakhstan for the coming years (Turkestan 2017, Republic Educational and Methodological Board).
Teaching staff of the department actively participates in the development of integration of education and science in Kazakhstan. This is evidenced by victories in republican scientific competitions, books, monographs, certificates, publications, teaching aids, participation in scientific and practical conferences held both in the Republic of Kazakhstan and abroad.
To date, the pedagogical staff has published more than 150 scientific articles in foreign scientific journals with elevated impact factor, in the editions recommended by the Committee for Control in Education and Science of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan. For many years the department organizes and conducts scientific and practical conferences, seminars, round tables, projects of various levels, among which is the International Symposium "Traditional Musical Cultures of the Peoples of Central Asia" (2009), the International Scientific and Practical Conference for the Centenary of the M .Tulebaeva, International scientific - practical conference "Music education of the XXI century: realities and prospects" and many others.
It should be noted that the department developed an innovative project "Master of Art" in 2012, introduced an international technology for managing the educational process – “Open space”, presented an interactive lesson format, which is one of the prerequisites for participation in competition of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan for the title "The best university teacher", new approaches to the implementation of professional practices are implemented, enabling students to find employment in general schools as teachers already in the senior years. In the framework of the production practice (managers: Shabdenova D.R, Akimbaeva D.A, Zavatskaya G.A), in recent years were held concerts and projects (Autumn leaf fall, Modern music and jazz, Nauryz-Duman, Yen Uzdik - Zhup Sayysy, Students to Children), as well as children's music operas "Koshkin Dom" and "Cinderella", which were held with great success.
The department of the Department of Music Education and Pedagogy makes a significant contribution to the aspiration of all other structural divisions to search and create new modern ideas and trends. A clear evidence and confirmation of this are the 8 collections published by the members of the department on the contribution of faculties, departments to the innovative development of the Conservatory, as well as numerous diploma and letters of gratify.
Due to the change of the structure in the university in 2017/2018 academic year, the section "Pedagogy and psychology of music education" was included into the department of Music Education and Pedagogy, under the direction of Candidate of Pedagogy, professor Shakerimova Z.
