DAAD
What is DAAD?
DAAD is a German academic exchange service that allows students and scientists from other countries to receive funding to study in Germany, as well as German students to travel to study in other countries. DAAD offers a number of scholarship programs, but most of the scholarships are awarded to graduate students, graduate students and scientists. The organization was founded in 1925 and today holds a leading position in the world in the field of international student exchanges. Over the years, DAAD has received funding from more than 2.1 million people.
What expenses are covered by DAAD scholarships?
DAAD scholarships cover all the main expenses of the contestants, namely:
Transportation costs (partially);
Medical insurance;
Accommodation in Germany: The monthly scholarship varies depending on the program and is usually 850 Euros per month for university graduates and 1200 Euros for graduate students. But since studying at public universities in Germany is free or requires only a small payment, this amount allows you to get a German education almost free of charge, as well as cover all the basic expenses of the student.
For graduate students, DAAD also offers additional assistance in paying the cost of language courses and reimburses the exam fee for participating in the language exam.
Most scholarships are awarded for a period of 1 year. But if the program has a long duration and the student shows good results during his studies, the scholarship may be extended for another year or two.
