SEMP
What is SEMP??
In Switzerland, Erasmus+ for Higher Education is called the Swiss-European SEMP Mobility Program. This gives Swiss higher education institutions the opportunity to provide funding to students, as well as teachers and administrative staff traveling abroad for study, internship, vocational training or teaching.
Who can participate?
Students can take a study trip to a partner higher education institution (UNIVERSITY) abroad for up to 12 months in one academic cycle (bachelor’s, master’s, doctoral studies). These visits are recognized for studying at their own university.
Students and graduates can complete an internship at a commercial enterprise or other suitable workplace abroad for up to 12 months in one academic cycle (bachelor’s, master’s, doctoral studies.
Teachers have the opportunity to teach in another country for up to 2 months. This is possible in any faculty.
University staff can be supported in their professional development through education and combining jobs at a partner university or at any other relevant institution abroad.
How is academic mobility organized?
Universities usually have an international relations department. He is responsible for organizing and conducting the mobility of students and staff. Students, teachers and staff who would like to learn about the possibilities of spending time abroad should contact the International Relations department of their university. There they can get all the additional information (requirements, application, deadlines, etc.).
Incoming mobility – what, how, where?
Students and university staff comping to Switzerland from abroad also receive support through SEMP. Internships should be organized at a Swiss university, usually at a partner institution of the home university. Students and university staff can get information from the International Relations department of their university or a Swiss partner institution.
