The kazakh national instrumental orchestra

The Kazakh folk instruments orchestra is one of the best musical groups of the conservatoire. It continues and develops the traditions of professional Kazakh performing, established in the middle of the last century by A. Zhubanov. Winner of the Grand Prix of the international competition "Zhubanov koktemі", the orchestra is the "calling card" of the Faculty of Folk Music, which determines the national specifics of the Kazakh National Conservatoire. For many years, Professor, Honored Artist of the Republic of Kazakhstan -Aitkali Zhaiymov was the leader and chief director of the orchestra. Later the orchestra was led by Arman Zhudebayev, the graduate of the Kazakh National Conservatoire named after Kurmangazy. In 2013-2018 the orchestra was led by Abylai Tlepbergenov. At the moment, the director of the orchestra is Bekbolat Abdіberіkuly.

• 2014 –Gala concert for the 70th anniversary of the KNC named after Kurmangazy, in Almaty, at Republic Palace (conductor Abylai Tlepbergenov)
