A Conservatory Student is Studying in Poland

Malika Adlet, a third-year student of the Symphony Conducting program at the Kurmangazy Kazakh National Conservatory (under the guidance of K. A. Omarov), continues her studies at the Akademia Muzyczna im. Krzysztofa Pendereckiego w Krakowie (Poland) during the spring semester of the 2024–2025 academic year as part of the Erasmus+ academic mobility program.

The Academy was founded in 1888 as the Conservatory of the Music Society (Pol. Konserwatorium Towarzystwa Muzycznego) based on the Music Society School, which had been operating since 1867. The first director of the conservatory was composer Władysław Żeleński, and the institution was patronized by Princess Marcelina Czartoryska, who had taken piano lessons in Paris from Frédéric Chopin.

The Erasmus+ program opens up new horizons for students worldwide and provides a unique opportunity to study at Europe’s leading educational institutions. Malika Adlet’s journey at the Kraków Academy of Music began in the fall of 2024, where she studied for one semester. Now, she has been given the opportunity to continue her studies in Kraków on the initiative and under the guidance of Professor Stanisław Krawczyński during the spring semester. In February, she returned home, successfully completed her exams, and has now returned to continue her education at one of Europe’s most prestigious music universities.

The conservatory takes great pride in Malika’s achievements and is confident that her example will serve as an inspiration for many students striving for excellence and aiming to develop in an international context.
