A student of the conservatory became a diploma winner of the prestigious international competition
The 4th year student of Kurmangazy KNC of the Vocal Art Department Madina Orazabay (class of Associate Professor G.A.Nurgalieva) entered a list of finalists and became a diploma winner in Elena Obraztsova’s XIII International Competition of Young Opera Singers which was held on August 21 in St. Petersburg in the State Academic Capella. Madina was among the 15 finalists out of 170 contestants of the competition, representing her country with honor.
The competition was held in 3 rounds. The 1st and 2nd rounds were accompanied by a piano and the 3rd round was accompanied by the State Symphony Orchestra of St. Petersburg. The undeniable talent of the young singer was appreciated by the International jury, namely Julia Lagauser (France) - Manager, Head of the "Opera for Peace" International Project;
Alessandro Ariosi (Italy) - Head of the "Ariosi Management" Art Agency;
Olga Borodina (Russia) - opera singer, soloist of the Mariinsky Theater, People's Artist of Russia, laureate of the State Prize of Russia, Professor of Herzen State Pedagogical University of Russia;
Makvala Kasrashvili (Russia) - opera singer, People's Artist of the USSR, laureate of the State Prize of Russia, Professor of P.I.Tchaikovsky Moscow State Conservatory, assistant to the chief conductor and musical director of the Bolshoi Theater of Russia;
Marina Meshcheryakova (Russia, Austria) - opera singer, Professor, Honored Artist of Russia;
Larisa Gergieva (Russia) - People's Artist of Russia, Artistic Director of the Mariinsky Academy of Young Opera Singers;
Sergey Leiferkus (Russia, Great Britain) - opera singer, Professor;
Teddy Gerstel (Switzerland) - Opera Manager, Head of Gerstel International Opera Management.
Also Madina’s performance on the final round, where she demonstrated her artistry and skill, was mentioned in several articles. She was especially noted for her virtuoso performance of Lyudmila's Cavatina from M.Glinka’s “Ruslan and Lyudmila” opera.
