Nowadays intensive integration of a higher education system of a country into the international educational space is the question of the hour in the dynamically changing world. Accreditation is the most common model of quality assurance in higher education, which requires increased responsibility for the quality of provided educational services.
Accreditation is a complicated process when the accreditation body evaluates the quality of the university as a whole, or the specific educational programs for recognition of their conformity to certain standards and criteria. There are two types of accreditation: national and international. International accreditation is implemented through foreign accreditation agency. The importance and relevance of international accreditation is related to the notion that, the successful completion of accreditation certifies the quality and legitimacy of educational programs and diplomas of that institution in other countries. Also, accreditation is one of the ways for constant improvement of the whole education system. Another importance of accreditation is related to the fact that universities will be recognized as reputable higher education institutions, which positively affects to the prestige of it among other universities.
Kurmangazy Kazakh National Conservatory has taken the responsibility to go through the international accreditation process for nine educational programs: "Instrument", "Vocal", "Conducting", "Traditional music", "Musicology," "Composition," "Pedagogy and Psychology" "Art-management" and "Music education". This accreditation process covered all three academic degrees: undergraduate, graduate and doctoral studies.

MusiQuE (Music Quality Enhancement) is an independent European agency for accreditation and external evaluation in the field of music education. It was founded as an organization completely independent from the European Association of Conservatories (AEC), music academies and schools, and considered to be as an authoritative representative of the European association in the higher music education.
MusiQuE independent experts' approach of is based on the idea that the quality enhancement in this field can be undoubtedly achieved through cooperation. Moreover, the international and European work organization of the MusiQuE adds value to the process, because all procedures are carried out on the more objective level, supporting and strengthening the international nature of the music profession.
There are no universally accepted definitions of the music quality, standards of the music quality are developed within musical traditions. Thus, the artistic experience and expectations woven into the musical tradition, comprise the foundation for assessing the quality of music.
What is also important to note that the results of international accreditation of Kurmangazy Kazakh National Conservatory will be declared in 2017.
