Competition for participation in the academic mobility program



The International Department of the Kurmangazy Kazakh National Conservatory announces a competition among first- and second-year students for participation in the academic mobility program funded by the republican budget. The study will take place during the first semester of the next 2024-2025 academic year at partner universities (the tuition is paid. The conservatory covers travel expenses, insurance, and daily allowances for 120 days):

The competition consists of two stages.

 

Stage I. Compliance with the requirements of the personal file documents.

1) Application - justification for studying abroad – https://clck.ru/3ApRPB;

2) Questionnaire of a citizen of the Republic of Kazakhstan going abroad for study of the established form –  https://clck.ru/3ApQvi;

3) Recommendation letters from the head of the department and the dean of the respective faculty – https://clck.ru/3ApQzs;

4) Notarized statement from parents (and/or spouse) consenting to send the citizen of the Republic of Kazakhstan for study abroad for a period exceeding two months (if under 18 years old);

5) Copy of passport;

6) Copy of transcript.

          

Stage II. Interview.

To participate in the competition, the International Office staff compile a list of participants whose documents meet the requirements of Stage I.

Candidates are then invited to a meeting of the Competition Commission for an interview.

 

The commission evaluates candidates based on the following criteria:

 

·     Students should be in their 2nd or 3rd year of a bachelor's program;

·     Citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan (According to points 7, 9-1, Order of the Minister of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated November 19, 2008, No. 613, On Approval of the Rules for Sending Students for Study Abroad, including within the framework of academic mobility, and provided for students as part of the state educational order);

·     Academic performance throughout the entire period of education (current transcript should be provided by students through the department and the registrar's office);

·     Completion of previous sessions with grades of "A," "A-," "B+," "B," "B-; "

·     Students should not have any academic debt;

·     Brief explanation of the motivations for studying abroad (on a five-point scale) from 1 to 5, based on the candidate's oral presentation in Russian/Kazakh languages (education will be in Russian at partner universities) and in accordance with the documents submitted;

·     Possession of diplomas as a winner of republican or international competitions and other certificates in the specialty (+1 point for each achievement);

·     Students should be active participants in the social life of the Conservatory.

 

Students who are not on a scholarship can go at their own expense if they pass the competition.

 

Stage I of the competition will take place from May 23, 2024, to May 29, 2024

 

Stage II of the competition will take place on June 3, 2024, at 15:00.
