Conservatory Teachers Share their Teaching and Creative Experience

Kurmangazy KNC teachers visited the Vigo Conservatory of Music CONSERVATORIO SUPERIOR DE MÚSICA DE VIGO (Vigo, Spain) within the Erasmus + academic mobility program from March 21 to March 25, 2022.

The delegation included Vice-Rector for Academic and Educational Work, musicologist Gulnar Abdrakhman, Head of the International Department, Zhaniya Abdukhalyk, Head of the Wind and Percussion Instruments Department, Olesya Nesterova, accompanist, piano teacher, Rabiga Dyusembayeva and teacher of the Wind and Percussion Instruments department, Azamat Imanbaev. 



In addition to daily classes, lectures and master classes given by Kazakh musicians for students of the VIGO Conservatory, issues of expanding further cooperation between the two universities in the academic and scientific fields were discussed. According to the Erasmus + program coordinator José Luis, the Spanish side plans to visit KNC this fall to share their teaching experience under the Conservatory’s new academic program - classical guitar, and also plans to involve our researchers in a joint project aimed at studying traditional music.

On March 23, as part of the visit, the teachers of the KNC had a big festive concert dedicated to Nauryz where the works of national composers such as N.Mendygaliev, S.Kibirova, K.Shildebaev, A.Abdinurov and others were performed. The foreign audience highly appreciated the Kazakh musicians’ skills. A great discovery for the Spanish side was the original traditional music of the Kazakhs which they were able to get familiarized with in details at Kazakh folk vocal and instrumental music lectures.
