Exhibition of Flutes and Workshop by Nikolai Plotnikov

On February 24, 2025, the Kurmangazy Kazakh National Conservatory hosted an exhibition by the Moscow Flute Center and a workshop on minor flute repairs by Nikolai Plotnikov (Moscow, Russia).

Nikolai Plotnikov is a professional flutist and a graduate of the Gnessin Russian Academy of Music. He is the only certified specialist in Russia for servicing American and Japanese flutes.

The workshop in Almaty was designed for students, master’s and doctoral students of the Instrumental Performance program, as well as for teachers. It focused on the intricacies of playing and minor flute repairs. N. Plotnikov shared valuable insights on flute maintenance and minor repairs, explaining essential techniques to preserve the instrument’s high-quality sound.
