International festival “The Planet of Art 2023” under the auspices of UNESCO



From May 29 to June 7, 2023, the cities of Pavlodar and Astana hosted grand gala concerts of the musical cycle of the 5th International Youth Festival under the auspices of UNESCO "The Planet of Art 2023 — Let’s Unite Hearts".

The large-scale festival, annually held by the Kazakhstan National Federation of UNESCO Clubs, this year brought together 42 laureates from six countries: Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Russia and Uzbekistan. They were selected from over five thousand applicants. Young artists, developing in vocal, instrumental and choreographic directions, presented their countries and demonstrated high artistic skills and bright talent. (Program)

The concerts took place on the stages of Ertis Promenade (June 4, Pavlodar) and the K. Kuanyshbaev Kazakh State Academic Music and Drama Theater (June 7, Astana). The program consisted of author's musical and choreographic compositions created especially for the Festival, as well as masterpieces of world musical classics and pop music. The concert featured works by Kazakh composers Kurmangazy, A. Meirbekov, D. Urazymbetov, D. Shin and others.

We are proud that the creative staff of the festival was made up of students, teachers and graduates of the Kurmangazy Kazakh National Conservatory. The main director of the Festival and the gala concert was Damir Urazymbetov, Associate Professor of Art Management Department, Head of the Quality Management Department, and the mentors of the festival were: graduate of the conducting department (class of Anatoliy Molodov) VInera Kaliyeva (vocal), teacher of the Kobyz and Bayan Department Galymzhan Narymbetov (instrumental), doctoral student of the Department of Art management Togzhan Moldalim (choreography).

The curators of the directions were students of Art Management Department Dilnaz Olalimova (4th year student), Olga Sherer (2nd year student), Almaz Baurzhanov (2nd year student).

The Director-General of UNESCO, Ms. Audrey Azoulay, visited the Gala Concert for the first time as a guest of honor. In her welcoming speech, she expressed her gratitude to the President of the Kazakhstan National Federation of UNESCO Clubs Bolat Akchulakov for organizing this festival and commitment to encouraging creativity and supporting youth, noting that the organization is one of the most active and invaluable members of the UNESCO club movement.
