Round Table for the Anniversary of the Conservatory Brings Together Leading Kazakhstani Art Scholars
On November 28, 2024, a joint scholarly project between the Kurmangazy Kazakh National Conservatory and the Abylkhan Kasteyev State Museum of Arts of the Republic of Kazakhstan took place a round table titled "Problems of the Synthesis of Arts and National Culture", dedicated to celebrating the 80th anniversary of the Conservatory.
The event was ceremonially opened with a congratulatory speech by Gulaim Zhumabekova, Director of the Abylkhan Kasteyev State Museum of Arts, and a welcome address from Gaukhar Tasbergenova, Rector of the Kurmangazy Kazakh National Conservatory. As part of the proceedings, the two institutions signed a Memorandum of Cooperation, envisioning collaborative work in the fields of music and museum activities.
This significant event brought together prominent Kazakhstani musicologists, art historians, and cultural scholars under the roof of the Museum. In their speeches, participants discussed the synthesis of various art forms – music, theater, and painting – and their evolution in the context of national culture. Among the speakers were notable figures such as Yekaterina Reznikova, Saniya Kabdiyeva, Valeriya Nedlina, Samal Mamytova, Yevfrat Imambek, and Olga Baturina, representing leading educational and cultural institutions of the country.
The presentations explored crucial topics concerning the interaction of music, painting, and theatrical art, with special emphasis on the importance of an interdisciplinary approach in art research. The event concluded with a gala concert, where talented students from the Conservatory's Dombra and String Instruments Departments performed works by both foreign and Kazakhstani composers.
The Kurmangazy Kazakh National Conservatory expresses its deepest gratitude to the Abylkhan Kasteyev State Museum of Arts, scholar-secretary Yekaterina Reznikova, and all participants and guests for their active involvement and invaluable contributions to this milestone event marking the Conservatory's anniversary.
