Saryn Journal Gets a New Look



On June 30, 2023, Kurmangazy Kazakh National Conservatory presented the Saryn peer-reviewed journal and its updated website.

The online presentation was attended by scientists, teachers and doctoral students from different universities of arts in Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. A fruitful discussion took place in a warm atmosphere. Colleagues discussed issues of thematic issues, peer review, citation, quality of scientific publications, and journal policy.

As a resolution, we can talk about the exchange of experience in the field of scientific publications and the continuation of cooperation between art universities and research institutes in different countries.

Saryn (from 2017 up to 2017, the journal was called Bulletin of Kurmangazy Kazakh National Conservatory, 2017 up to 2023 — Saryn Art and Science Journal) is a peer reviewed journal focused on publishing current research, translated materials and reviews of academic texts, music albums, films, exhibitions and other works of science and culture in the line of Arts and humanities.

Topics of Saryn issues that are expected to be considered in 2023:

1. Traditional art in the culture of the Turkic-speaking peoples

2. Modern trends in the art of Eurasia

3. Interaction of cultures in the Eurasian space

4. Civilizational approach in the study of culture and art

Main themes include the following lines (but are not limited):

· Theory and history of arts;

· Philosophy of arts;

· Musicology and ethnic musicology;

· Methodology of source study and historiography of art expertise;

· Education in the field of art and culture.

Saryn is published quarterly. Articles, proposed for publication in the journal, undergo a double-blind peer review procedure, as well as a plagiarism check. The languages of publications are English, Kazakh, and Russian.
