Teachers of the Conservatory took part in the Week of Traditional Music organized with the support of the «Kyrgyz Traditional Music» Foundation
From April 20-25, 2022, large-scale events of the International format were held in Bishkek, Kyrgyz Republic. The Week of Traditional Music dedicated to the Day of Traditional Music on April 25, and the IX International Congress of Music and Dance, held with the support of the Ministry of Culture, Information, Sports and Youth Policy of the Kyrgyz Republic, the National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic, A.A.Altmyshbaev Institute of Philosophy, Law and Social and Political Research, Chingiz Aitmatov Institute of Language and Literature and the Kyrgyz Traditional Music Foundation.
These major, meaningful cultural, educational and purely scientific events were held under the auspices of the lofty goals of preserving, developing and disseminating the oral tradition musical. It was attended by a large number of folklorists, performers and musicologists from different countries - Turkey, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Karakalpakstan, Russian regions of Khakassia, Tyva and other countries.
Within the framework of the Week of Traditional Music, a concert of traditional music preservers was held, where manaschi, dastanchi and akyns performed, demonstrating their skills in storytelling, komuz players, kyyakists, wind performers (choor, sybyzgy), jew's harps (temir ooz komuz, jygach ooz komuz) instruments and jetigen, who presented instrumental art, performers of traditional seketbai, arman songs; folk and author's chants (accompanied by the national instrument), works by melodists of the XX-XXI centuries (accompanied by accordion, button accordion) in the vocal and instrumental field.
The program of the congress, as previously planned, included plenary and several section sessions on various aspects of musical Turkology. The reports of musicologists from Kyrgyzstan, Doctor of Art History Duyshaliev K.Sh., Candidate of Art History, Honored Worker of Culture of the Kyrgyz Republic Subanaliev S., Professor, People's Artist of the Kyrgyz Republic, laureate of the Kyrgyz State Toktogul Prize, Doctor of Arts in the field of Kyrgyz folk-professional traditional music. Amanova R.A., may be particularly noted.
From Kazakhstan side this event was attended by Doctor of Arts, Professor of the Kazakh National Conservatory, S.A.Elemanova, with the report topic dedicated to the “Actual problems of studying the traditional musical culture of the Turkic peoples”, Candidate of Art History, Professor, Dean of the “Musicology, art management and social and humanitarian disciplines" faculty, Musagulova G. Zh., who spoke on the topic: "Turkic storytelling art: to the problem of speech intonation" and Doctoral Candidate of Art History, Nedlina V. E., who presented an interesting report: "Music archives in the XXI century: preservation of heritage in action."
The gala concert of the masters of the musical art of the oral tradition, dedicated to the closing of the Week of Traditional Music, impressed with its wide demand among the audience. The names of performers from different parts of the Turkic -speaking area have long been known to professionals and lovers of traditional art. I would like to mention among them representatives from Kazakhstan: Raimbergenov A.I., Elshibaeva A., Temirkhan B., Zhumagali S., Bekmyrza S., an ensemble of jetigen performers led by Zhakypbek N. and many others.
Within the framework of this global cultural project, fruitful meetings and dialogues were held, at which scientists and performers of traditional music from different countries introduced the participants and numerous listeners to the works of music of the Turkic peoples. We have previously noted in this laborious process the unifying role of a very responsible person, an excellent organizer and an ardent fan and fighter for the fate and promotion of national culture and science, an active initiator of big ideas systematically implemented in the Kyrgyz Republic. This is the People's Artist of the Kyrgyz Republic, laureate of Toktogul Kyrgyz State Prize, Doctor of Arts in the field of Kyrgyz folk-professional traditional music, Roza Asanovna Amanova, who wrote a number of monographs, a large number of interesting and productive projects.
