The Batyrkhan Shukenov Foundation is Opening Applications for the Batyr Lab Musical Residence!

Batyr Lab is the country's first musical residence for Kazakh composers. 10-12 local composers will be invited to participate in the visiting residence, who will be trained in sound recording and music production. As part of the Batyr Lab, master classes will be held with guest experts including a Moscow producer and DJ Lay-Far and the founder of the InSimple Music Consulting Bureau, Alex Nikolaev and mobile music studios will be organized.

Following the results of the residence, the Foundation will hold a contest of grants among the participants to support further work on music for a total of 5,000,000 tenge. At the end of the creative process and training, each musician will be assisted in promotion, professional filming and distribution.

Applications from performers are accepted until April 16, 2021. To participate in the residence, future participants need to fill out a questionnaire and attach links to three original audio recordings of their works.
