The Conservatory hosted an international round table
On April 7, 2022, in the Recital Hall of Kurmangazy Kazakh National Conservatory, the International Round Table «Professor B.I.Karakulov’s Works and Actual Problems of Modern Musical Science» on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of Doctor of Arts, Professor Bolat Karakulov, was held.
B.I.Karakulov (1942-2014) is a well-known specialist scientist who has achieved great success in the study of Kazakh traditional music and has made a significant contribution to the development of ethnomusicology. The name of Professor B.Karakulov is inextricably linked with the development of musical Turkology, the organization of the I International Symposium "Music of the Turkic Peoples".
The event was opened by Galiya Begembetova, Vice-Rector for Scientific and Creative Work and International Cooperation of Kurmangazy KNC. The moderator was Associate Professor of the Department of Musicology and Composition, PhD, Aizhan Berdibay.
During the "round table" Nauryzbek's "Dombyramdy kolga alyp" terme was performed by the Teacher of the Folk Song Department, Kunkozha Khairulla. Also, the Master of Art History, artist of Kurmangazy Kazakh National Orchestra, Azamat Shynarov performed kui by Turkesh's "Bayzhuma".
Within the framework of the event, the 2nd volume of the "Musical Symmetrology" monograph by B.I.Karakulov and Sh. G. Gullyev's "Music of the Turkic peoples" monograph were presented.
Ilyas Kozhabekov, Candidate of Art History, Associate Professor of the Department of Musicology and Composition, Executive Editor of the “Musical Symmetrology” monograph and Saule Utegaliyeva, Doctor of Arts, Professor of the Department of Musicology and Composition, shared their scientific views on the works of the Professor and highly appreciated the event.
Meanwhile, the organizers of the event receive many letters from abroad with words of gratitude. For example, Fattah Halykzade, professor of the Azerbaijan Conservatory, Ph.D. in Art History, writes: “The round table, in my opinion, was held at a very high level. In just over 2 hours, you managed to present the most interesting materials to the participants and listeners, i.e. speeches, memoirs. I personally discovered a lot of new things both in reports and book presentations. A round table with the participation of prominent scientists is an excellent form of scientific exchange. I heartily congratulate all the organizers.”
