The Small Olympiad in Music Theory has ended

On April 21-22, the small Olympiad on the academic program: «Music Theory» ended at the Conservatory and its winners were announced. The main purpose of the event is to identify talented youth, attract and to provide career guidance to applicants studying in colleges to continue their education in this major at Kurmangazy Kazakh National Conservatory.

Young people from all over our country came to participate in the Olympiad. These are 3-year and 4-year students of music colleges in Kazakhstan and of 11 and 12 year students of the country's special music boarding schools. Namely, students of P.Tchaikovsky Almaty College of Music , Pavlodar College of Music, Shymkent College of Music, Atyrau College of Music as well as students of the K.Baiseitova and A.Zhubanov boaridng music schools.

The chairman of the organizing committee of the Small Olympiad in "Music Theory" was Associate Professor of the "Musicology and Composition" Department, Doctoral Candidate of Art History V.A.Shapilov. The jury included the head of the Department of Musicology and Composition, Associate Professor, PhD Doctor M.T.Koylybayeva, Professor of the Department of Musicology and Composition, Doctor of Arts S.I.Utegaliyeva, Associate Professor of the Department of Musicology and Composition, Master of Arts G .D.Kalymova, Associate Professor of the same department, Doctoral Candidate of Art History, A.S.Nusipova and senior teacher of the "Musicology and composition" Department L.Sh.Gazizova.

All participants of the small Olympiad demonstrated good level and knowledge. And therefore, it was not easy for the jury to name the best.

And yet, according to the results of the Republican Olympiad, the strict jury awarded the 12th grade student of K.Baiseitova school, Zhuldyz Nurtaeva (teachers Kundakbaeva G.B., Zobkova A.A.) the first prize.

The 2nd place was shared by a 3rd year student of the Shymkent College of Music, Irina Kovpak (teacher - V.B.Unchikova), a 3rd year student of P.Tchaikovsky Almaty Music College, Asel Mukysheva (teachers - L.N.Kuznetsova, D. E. Omasheva, I.N. Yagotintseva) and a 3-year student of the Shymkent College of Music, Zhansaya Nartaeva (teacher - V.B. Unchikova).

Several participants were awarded the III-prize at once. Student of the Atyrau College of Music, Bakhtiyar Mukhitov (teacher - V.O. Shukenova), 3rd year student of the Shymkent College of Music, Bakdaulet Abdimanap (teachers V.B. Unchikova, E.A. Osipov), a 4-year student of the Pavlodar College of Music, Dana Tazhenova (teachers - L.M. Chumakova, Z.A. Gatina) and a 12-year student of A. Zhubanov music schhool, Aya Rakhimova (teachers - A.M.Bekzhigitova, Zh.K.Kdyrniyazova).
