Turkestan hosted a round table dedicated to the memory of Uzbekali Zhanibekov

On August 27, 2021, a round table dedicated to the memory of Uzbekali Zhanibekov was held in Turkestan. The event is timed to coincide with the 90th anniversary of the famous statesman who contributed significantly to the spiritual development of the country. It was attended by the Minister of Culture and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan A.Raimkulova, representatives of the Akimat of the Turkestan region, well-known public figures, cultural and scientific workers of Kazakhstan.

- In the 70s of the last century, during the Soviet time, Uzbekali Zhanibekov initiated the restoration of the mausoleum of H.A.Yasavi. With his direct participation, the «Azret-Sultan» memorial estate was built on the basis of the mausoleum»- the minister said.

She also noted that this year, following the informal summit of the Cooperation Council of Turkic-speaking states, the city of Turkestan was declared the spiritual capital of the Turkic world, and various state-level initiatives are constantly being taken in our country, aimed at preserving and transmitting the spiritual heritage to future generations.
The meeting was also attended by the Rector of Kurmangazy Kazakh National Conservatory, Honored Worker of the Republic of Kazakhstan Arman Zhudebaev, who spoke about the merits of the ethnographer-scientist and his contribution to the development of culture. At the same time, Aizhan Berdibaeva, an Associate Professor of the Department of Musicology and Composition, a well-known musicologist, presented to the audience through the ZOOM platform the report: «Scientific Works of U.Zhanibekov in National Music».
