Virtual book exhibition «KULASH BAYSEITOVA - KAZAKH NIGHTINGALE»

The Scientific and Information Library has prepared a virtual book exhibition dedicated to the 110th anniversary of the People's Artist of the USSR, Honored Artist of the Kazakh SSR, opera singer, dramatic actress Kulyash Baiseitova – «KULASH BAISEIITOVA – KAZAKH NIGHTINGLE».

The epithet "first" is always next to the name Kulyash Baiseitova. She was one of the first when in 1936 was awarded the high title of People's Artist of the USSR, which had just been approved in the country, and one of the first to be awarded such a high title at such a young age – she was 24 years old only. Kulyash Baiseitova’s talent was big. She was a brilliant performer of musical and dramatic scenes, the first Kazakh professional opera and the first concert singer of the country. But opera remained the main thing in her work. She was not so much a performer of the main roles as the creator of opera performances, especially national opera. People's memory still keeps unforgettable images of Kyz Zhibek, Khadisha, Akzhunus, Azhar, Sarah created by Kulyash.
She became the first to perform parts from classical operas on the professional Kazakh stage, such as Butterfly (“Cio-Cio-san” by G. Puccini), Tatyana (“Eugene Onegin” by P.I.Tchaikovsky ), Tamara (“Demon” by A.T.Rubinshtein), Maro ("Daisi " by Z.P.Paliashvili ) and Altynshash ("Altynshash" by N.G.Zhiganov).
The virtual book exhibition presents books about the life and work of the outstanding opera singer Kulyash Baiseitova including G.Z.Begembetov’s "Kulyash Baiseitova", M.Amangeldin’s "Kulyash", N.Nagulin’s "Our Kulyash", etc.
