Workshop by a Professor from Vienna (Austria)
On December 4, 2024, as part of the celebration of the 80th anniversary of the Kurmangazy Kazakh National Conservatory, a masterclass will be held in the conference hall by invited international scholar (Dr. Hab.) Ulrich Morgenstern. Dr. Morgenstern is a Professor in the Folk Music and Ethnomusicology Research Department at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna (Austria).
The workshop, titled “The Concepts of 'Folk Musical Instruments' and 'National Musical Instruments' in the History of Ethnomusicology”, will feature unique materials and the results of Dr. Morgenstern's academic research. The professor will discuss various approaches to the classification and study of musical instruments in different cultures, while sharing his expertise and insights on the subject.
The event invites students, master’s students, doctoral students from various educational programs, and the teaching staff of the Conservatory.
