The Social Work Sector is an integral part of the Service for Social and Educational Work and Youth Policy at the Kurmangazy Kazakh National Conservatory. Its activities are aimed at creating favorable conditions for students’ education and comprehensive development, ensuring social protection, and supporting socially vulnerable categories of students.

One of the sector’s priority areas is the organization of a comprehensive system of social support for students. This includes assistance to students from low-income and large families, students with special educational needs, individuals facing difficult life circumstances, as well as orphans and students with disabilities. Special attention is given to facilitating the processing of social benefits, allowances, scholarships, and financial aid, which helps create equal opportunities for obtaining higher education.

Particular focus is placed on the adaptation of freshmen and international students to the educational process and student life. In this regard, the sector organizes informational meetings, consultations, and various events to help students successfully integrate into the academic and social life of the Conservatory. Work in this area addresses not only everyday and administrative issues but also fosters a comfortable psychological environment conducive to personal growth and professional development.

A significant part of the sector’s activities involves managing student accommodation. Sector specialists accept and process applications for dormitory placements, maintain and monitor the accuracy of the student residence database, and coordinate with dormitory administrations to ensure comfortable living conditions.

Additionally, the sector actively promotes students’ social engagement, encourages participation in volunteer activities, supports student initiatives, and organizes socially significant events. Cooperation with youth and student organizations helps foster a sense of civic responsibility and social awareness among students.

One of the key aspects of the sector’s work is organizing medical support for students. This includes preventive medical examinations, health monitoring, assistance in accessing medical services including specialist consultations. Considerable attention is given to psychological support, creating conditions for students’ emotional well-being and successful adaptation to student life.

Furthermore, the sector performs several organizational and administrative functions aimed at ensuring student comfort within the educational environment. These include issuing student ID cards, registering students at their temporary place of residence, organizing the military registration process for male students, monitoring the issuance and renewal of the public social transport card “ONAY,” and coordinating with deans’ offices and departments on social support matters.

An important part of the sector’s work is cooperating with government bodies, local authorities, and various social initiatives to effectively address student social support issues.

Thus, the Social Work Sector plays a key role in the student social welfare system, helping create favorable conditions for study, residence, and development. Its comprehensive approach to social issues, attention to individual student needs, and professional support contribute to forming a comfortable and inclusive educational environment that fosters the academic and creative success of every student.
